You Really Need to Read This

In today’s email, I received notice that Allan Wilson had posted his latest newsletter online. I’m not a big newsletter reader … primarily because I don’t have the time. In addition to my website writing services, I also operate 8 websites of my own, plus do copywriting and website maintenance for 3 ongoing clients.

But another reason I rarely read them is because so many are nothing but sales letters in disguise. Now I have no problem with someone promoting their products or services in their newsletter. I fully realize and accept that we’re all hoping to put a few bucks in our pocket. But more and more, it’s a rarity to find a newsletter that contains content that is actually interesting and fun to read.

That’s why I was so impressed with Allan’s newsletter. I encourage you to take a few moments and read it for yourself. It’s a model that I wish more internet marketers would follow. Here’s the link: http://www.nichehealtharticles.com/newsletter.html.

BTW, I don’t get a thing for promoting this newsletter. I just think it’s entertaining AND has some great information that many of us can benefit from.

Let me know if you agree.

The Push to Sell

In a book I’m reading, I came across a passage that really jumped off the page at me. It talked about how we all have a power within us that allows us to pull towards us what we want. Yet few of us use this power. Instead, we push and shove to reach our goals. We feel nothing is going to happen unless we ‘make’ it happen. To a point, this is true. We can’t just sit back and wait for the world to beat a path to our door. ‘It ain’t gonna’ happen.’

But consider this. If you are the one being pushed, what do you do? You rebel. You dig in your heels, cross your arms, and say ‘make me.’

If you aren’t reaching the level of success that you want on the internet, maybe it’s time to take a fresh look at how you’re selling your products and services.

Instead of focusing your total attention on external actions — keyword optimization, email promotions, link exchanges, Adwords, etc. — why not try turning inward and using that power within you to pull to you what you want?

Take a little time each morning and think about what you want to happen that day. Then, instead of plotting out all the things you’re going to do to make it happen, try this — think about the results.

Think about how you’re going to feel when that affiliate check arrives, or you get notification of a sale (or several sales), or that big project you’ve been wanting finally comes to pass.

Then spend a little time thinking about how you’re going to enjoy the results of your efforts. Maybe a vacation to the Caribbean? A new BMW or Mercedes? A new house by the lake or on the ocean? Daydream a little and see yourself in the place you want to be.

Throughout the day, try to keep yourself in this receptive (pulling) frame of mind. Be aware of your actions. When you catch yourself pushing and shoving to make the sale, take a few moments and use that power within to pull what you want towards you.

Let me know how it works.
